Abstrak

This study aims to describe the innovative learning strategies implemented in Civics (PKN) instruction in fifth-grade students at SDN Petir 4 and examine their impact on student understanding, motivation, and engagement. The study employed a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The research location was at SDN Petir 4, and the informants consisted of fifth-grade teachers and third-grade students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis employed the Miles and Huberman model, which encompasses data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was tested through source and technique triangulation. The results showed that teachers implemented several innovative learning strategies, such as group discussions, the use of digital technology, animated videos, visual aids, and project-based evaluation. These strategies created an interactive and enjoyable learning environment, made abstract Civics concepts more concrete, and increased student motivation and engagement. However, the study also identified challenges in engaging shy or less confident students. This study recommends that teachers continue to develop a variety of media and learning strategies, provide additional guidance for less active students, and utilize technology consistently to make Civics learning more effective and relevant to students' needs
