Abstract

This research aims to describe the process of internalizing the Scout Honor Code and the Ten Commandments thru interactive learning methods in elementary school students. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. The research location was carried out at SDN Cipondoh Makmur, Tangerang City. The informants in this study consisted of one Scoutmaster and four students from grades III, IV, V, and VI. Data collection techniques were carried out thru participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The validity of the data was tested thru source and technique triangulation techniques. The research results indicate that interactive learning methods such as group work, role-playing, reflective discussions, icebreakers, and collaborative craft activities are effective in internalizing the values of the Scout Honor Code and the Ten Scout Laws. Students not only understand character values cognitively, but also internalize them affectively and practice them in their daily behavior. The core values that appear to be internalized include honesty, responsibility, cooperation, discipline, and helping others. Challenges such as differences in student character, dominance within groups, and time constraints can be overcome thru creative and flexible teaching strategies employed by the teacher. This research recommends that interactive learning in Scout activities continue to be developed as an integral part of character education in elementary schools and be strengthened thru synergy between schools and parents to maintain the sustainability of students' character value internalization
